Eight Personal Discipline Structure
Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. Without a structure for your personal life, spiritual growth becomes accidental rather than intentional. In this message, we explore the eight pillars of personal discipline that every believer must erect.
1. The Discipline of Time
Time is the currency of life. How you spend your hours determines who you become. We must redeem the time because the days are evil. God lives in eternity, but He operates in time. If you cannot master your time, you cannot master your destiny.
2. The Discipline of the Secret Place
Public victory is a result of private conquest. You cannot sustain a public fire without a private altar. The secret place is where instructions are given, where burdens are lifted, and where oil is replenished.
3. The Discipline of Words
Death and life are in the power of the tongue. A disciplined life requires a disciplined mouth. You cannot speak defeat and expect victory. Your words are the architects of your reality.
4. The Discipline of Appetite
Esau sold his birthright for a plate of food. Many destinies have been truncated on the altar of immediate gratification. Fasting is not just about spiritual power; it is about disciplining your flesh to obey your spirit.
5. The Discipline of Learning
Leaders are readers. The day you stop learning is the day you start dying. Paul, even at the end of his life, asked for his books and parchments. We must be rigorous in our study of the Word and relevant knowledge.
Conclusion
Building these structures takes time, but the reward is a life that glorifies God and impacts generations. Start today. Pick one area and build a structure around it.
